How The Community Card Works For Cardholders

Non-profits distribute the GRI Community Card to their supporters with instructions on how to activate them on-line.  The cards are free of charge and, once activated, cardholders are provided with a list of local merchants who are participating in the program.  These local businesses have agreed to donate a percentage of card related sales, typically between 5% and 15%, each time the card is presented. 

Merchants simply scan the card and contributions are automatically calculated based on the transaction total.  One hundred percent (100%) of the donations are transferred to the non-profit electronically at the end of each quarter. Many merchants offer incentives directly to the cardholders too so it is a win-win-win program.  Donations for the non-profit, added revenue and customer loyalty for businesses and savings for the cardholder.
